After Pete and Laura's wedding in San Diego, the Hopkins headed out the next day for the San Diego Wildlife Park! The weather was perfect (as it always is in this area!) and we had a great day seeing all the animals. The most exciting event of the day was the hot air balloon ride that Daddy and Delaney took--fortunately it was roped to the around so although it went several hundred feet in the area, it did not fly away! Due to Mommy's fear of heights, she stayed down below and shot everything on film! Delaney seemed to enjoy the ride and squealed at the birds in the sky and at the beautiful view of the zoo grounds below! As they were coming down for the descent, I saw two little hands waving excitedly at me, and it was the best part of the day! Other highlights of the day included a safari ride around the park, an elephant show, an up-close view of the lions and gorillas, several carousel rides, and an opportunity to see many safari animals including giraffes, rhinos, colorful birds, and other exotic animals. Overall, we had a fun day and Delaney got an opportunity to learn lots more about one of her very favorite topics........animals!
