After spending a few hours at Naper Settlement, the three of us met up with our friends Robin and Bill and their daughter Katie, who is three months younger than Delaney. We had a nice dinner in downtown Naperville at a restaurant with outdoor seating right along the river. Delaney received an early birthday present from Katie, which included the book "Counting Cockatoos" by Stella Blackstone and Stephanie Bauer! She absolutely loves the book because the illustrations are great and by now she has memorized where the cockatoos are on each page! She actually finds them faster than Mommy! After dinner we took a long stroll along the river, and adventures included watching a stranded baby duck try to find it's Mom (happy ending!), petting a few passing dogs, and getting a little wet from the water fountain! It's always fun to see Robin, Bill, and Katie!
