The California adventure continued with a 2-night stay at the Hyatt Resorts in Huntington Beach, California. It's a little beach town located right on the Pacific Ocean, and the hotel boasts a gorgeous view of the water as well as a huge swimming pool to lounge around in.

If you are ever in town and have some money to burn, this was the place we stayed:
The weather continued to be perfect, sunny blue skies and temps of around 80 degrees every day. We splashed around in the pool, ate brunch at some little restaurants in town, and met up with Dennis Harnisch and his son John for dinner, who are good friends of Brian's parents and Chicago natives who relocated to CA about twenty years ago. They certainly seem to have adjusted to sunny California life very well! We took a walk to the Huntington Beach pier and walked around a bit, although we did not swim in the ocean, as the waves were strong and a bit scary for a little tyke like Delaney! That being said, she loves the water and always screamed "WATEE" whenever the ocean came into view. That got us thinking that we will definitely start swimming lessons in a few years! The one taken of her on the balcony is a table we set up for her to eat breakfast on every morning. She is now feeding herself, and so both mornings we would sit her on her little chair at the table, and she would enj oyher breakfast while soaking in the beautiful views of the hotel grounds and the ocean beyond. What a perfect setting for a little girl to enjoy!
