Click on contact sheet for better view of photos in thumbnails! We spent a fun day at Naper Settlement, an outdoor living history museum that held a Civil War event which included battle re-enactments and other period displays. I was teaching that unit for Social Studies in that same week so the visit was a good learning experience for me as a teacher, as well as new experience for little Laney! The cannons and rifles were very loud at times, but she literally giggled every time a cannon went off, and Mommy protected her ears when deemed necessary.
We visited a petting zoo at the park, and although leery at first, Delaney helped Daddy to feed the goats and other small animals. She also insisted on pushing the stroller and/or walking on her own--which isn't unusual for her. It is really funny to watch the reactions of people passing by, who watch this tiny little girl who doesn't look old enough to walk, pushing this huge stroller that is twice as tall as she is! Even standing next to Daddy, he looks huge and she looks so very small! One day Delaney will grow into herself, and her tenacity and determination will catch up to her height!
