On our spring break 2011 road trip, we stopped by the Courtney Family Farm in Mercer, PA to visit John and Pamela Courtney. John is Grandma Lorene's (Brian's mom) brother. Lorene grew up on this family farm, and John and Pamela live in the house that she was raised in. The girls loved visiting the barn and holding a baby sheep. They also got to see cows grazing in the fields! A few of the buildings on the property are over 150 years old! It was really a great opportunity for the girls to see how things run on a farm, and to connect with a part of their history. The best part was tugging on Uncle John's beard!!! :O) Lila has overcome her phobia of his long gray beard, which used to send her into hysterics as a baby. It was a fun trip and we really appreciate the Courtney's hospitality.

Lila has overcome a lot of her fears this year already, long beards, giant characters...but she still HATES ants!! :)
