On Sunday, the weather was absolutely gorgeous in Aurora. After a long and dreary winter that lasted WAY TOO LONG, Spring had finally appeared! Temperatures hit a whopping 70 degrees! So, of course we had to celebrate such a special occasion with an inaugural wagon ride in Delaney's new Radio Flyer wagon that she got for her first birthday! See site for more details about the wagon:

Brian (aka Daddy) went out and set up the wagon, belting Delaney inside and covering her legs with a light blanket. When I came out a few minutes later, there she was with a balloon tied to her wrist! I guess Daddy thought the occassion would be a bit more memorable if she could bring one of her birthday balloons along for the ride!
We walked all around the neighborhood, waving to neighbors, pointing out trees and interesting houses along the way, and stopped by Delaney's friend Cyrus' house to invite him to join in. We even sang a special song from Delaney's Wiggleworm CD appropriately entitled "Little Red Wagon"! Our walk lasted awhile, but then the sun started to set and it was time to head back. We all thoroughly enjoyed our first walk in the neighborhood since November. As I headed home next to my husband and giggly, wide-eyed, one-year-old daughter, the sun's rays enveloping us in warmth, I thought "Does life really get any better than this?"
I'm pretty sure the answer is no.
