I had been looking for photos from this night for years. I came across it in Google Photos a few weeks ago. It's a special moment for a few reasons. First, it's the only Christmas show the kids participated in during ALL their years of attending St. Mark's Lutheran as FDL students. They only participated that one night, as the dates never worked out any other years because of two December birthdays and the birthday parties we were always doing that first or second weekend in December for Topher and Lila. Second, I believe Grandma and Grandpa Hopkins came to this one, although sadly I couldn't find a photo of them, if one even exists. But I do remember they came and they really enjoyed themselves. I don't remember it this way, but the date embedded in the pic says December 2013, so Lorene would have been in a wheelchair that evening, and Bob would have been driving. She had her stroke in June of 2012. I remember she enjoyed the show, I do remember their smiles at seeing the kids all dressed up for the performance.
Laney was a lamb, and Lila was a horse (or donkey?) They had a fun time and laughed and giggled all night. For some reason, I can't remember if Topher participated that evening. I think he did, but there is no picture to show him, sadly. Either way, I wanted to post this night to hold it in our memories forever. It only happened once, the kids had a blast, and our family came out to see their magical Christmas performance.
It was, I do remember, a wonderful Christmas memory. 💖🎄
