I had never seen this photo before and Brian texted it to me this morning from FB memories. It was a Peace Corps. reunion we went to in Fall 2013, the year I took off for family leave. We took a road trip from Illinois. This photo of Laney (age 7) and Topher (4) was taken in Estes Park, Colorado. There were Elk in the Rockies and Laney (2nd grade) said "Shhhhh, don't let them know we are here"....it was a perfect trip, perfect setting, and a lovely few days. Looking at this picture took my breath away, 9 years later. Such a perfect memory, little faces and little fingers. This is a trip that I remembered, but not this particular moment. I'm glad I have it now, to hold onto and cherish. We can't live in the past but we can go back to it and close our eyes and savor it, if only for a moment.
The Hopkids welcome you!
Welcome to our family blog! The Hopkids are made up of our two daughters Delaney and Lila, and our son Christopher (see ages below), who keep us on our toes every day and fill our lives with joy and laughter. We are so blessed to have three happy and healthy kids, and we hope that you enjoy reading about their everyday adventures!
